Who is eligible to attend?
If you’re attending this year’s prom, and would benefit from a free dress, you’re welcome to come to our event! We recognize that you may no longer be in high school (which is OK with us)! If you’re going to prom - come see us at Project Prom!
When is project prom?
Project Prom takes place in March each year. You can find the dates for this year’s event on the main page at the registration link. (If not posted yet, we’re figuring them out. Check back soon!)
Where is Project Prom?
In 2020, we’ll have two Project Prom locations!
Site #1: Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Site #2: East Recreation Center in Winona, Minnesota
After you register, you’ll receive an email with all the details (including exact location) you need to attend!
is the dress really free?
Yes! We recognize that prom dresses are expensive - really expensive. That’s why we’re providing new and gently used prom dresses at no cost. Just come, “shop” for your perfect dress and take it home to enjoy - totally free. :)
What should I bring?
A good attitude. Seriously. :) As you can imagine, Project Prom gets a little busy at times (hence why you need to register), so we only ask that you bring excitement and a little patience.
P.S. - We know you meant “Do I need to bring an I.D.?” You can if you want, but all we need is your name to check you in!
who can come with me?
We LOVE that you want to share this experience with your loved ones! But…our space fills up when everyone is looking for their perfect dress. For this reason, we ask that you bring no more than two people with you to your appointment. Thank you for understanding!
i can’t attend project prom. is there another time i can get a dress?
Unfortunately, because of the size of the event, we can only host Project Prom one time each year. To try and accommodate as many attendees as possible, we expanded our event for the 2020 giveaway. If you are unable to make one of the days, we recommend you check out what the local thrift stores have to offer.
